Life Coaching is about helping people to get the most out of their lives. It can be particularly beneficial to people who are trying to transform aspects of their lives or to those dealing with significant change such as an overseas relocation.

How does Life Coaching Work?

Using a series of powerful questioning techniques, setting up life structures, mapping goals and planning actions, Life Coaches shift their clients towards specified goals.

Coaching encourages personal growth in a holistic way.  It focuses on action and changes perspectives.  Coaching provides experiential and positive self learning that deals with core attitudes rather than superficial behaviours.  Coaches inspire, motivate and guide their clients to use existing strengths and develop new perspectives to bring about change.

What goes on during a coaching session?

There is no such thing as a standard coaching session and I adapt the content to suit my clients and their needs.  I usually start by reviewing the outcome of activities planned and agreed in the previous session.  Wins and achievements are acknowledged, roadblocks are tackled by powerful questioning and examining perspectives. I present a lot of searching questions and we both listen carefully to the answers.  Finally, activities for the coming week are planned and recorded.

What are the benefits of coaching?

Coaching is action based and encourages clients to find their own solutions. These solutions can be applied to other issues  and clients can become empowered and resourceful. This differs from teaching and consulting where the client often remains powerless and never becomes the expert.

How do I know if coaching is right for me?

Coaching is based on results.  If you feel comfortable yet challenged during the process, work well with your activities between sessions, look forward to each meeting and believe you are achieving your goals, then coaching is right for you.
